2010-A year of Changes

This past year has brought the Cahill family many laughter and tears, much joy and sorrow, and many life changes.  The year started off with great news: we were to be blessed with another little life!  Lachlan was crawling at this point (he started crawling on Christmas!), so that meant he hopefully would be walking when number 2 came along.

January also included a fun trip to California to see some of Luke's side of the family.  We soaked up the sunshine, shared our great news and had some great family time. When we returned, Angela participated in SACS Idol at the school where she taught music to middle schoolers.  The teachers and staff get to make fools of themselves, and the students vote which one wins: Middle School team won!  Woot woot!  Check out the fabulous performance to Thriller
In the spring we had a great time celebrating Lachlan's 1st birthday.  He was a bit shy at first eating his cake, but then he got pretty into it!

Thank you Byerly's1!

I looooove CHOCOLATE!!!!
Around Easter, we decided it was TIME to tear up the carpet in our dining room.  So, Luke, being the handy man that he is trying to be (with some much needed help) gave us some lovely 'wood' floors.  We love them.  Then on Easter (4/4) Lachlan started walking!  It was so exciting!  And then our lives were never the same...Not long after that, he received his first hair cut.

Before-boy did we wait too long!

During-he did very well, though he didn't like when she went by his ears.

After-looking sharp!

Than came another major change: after much thought and prayer and discussion we decided to have Angela stay at home with our two children and not go back to teach at SACS.  Wow was that a hard decision.  But we prayed for peace, for HIS Peace, and that is what He gave us, so we knew this was the Lord's will.  As hard as it was, Angela said her farewells to her students, teachers and staff members, and her fabulous teaching partner, Hrad.  Love ya, mean it and miss you!!!!

Angela took a road trip-as she was 6 months pregnant-from Baton Rouge (she flew down there) back up to the cities with her friend, Sara.  Good times!  And big belly!  When she returned, we decided that a toddler and big belly weren't enough--we needed something else.  How about a PUPPY!
Constable Weezer than became part of our family.  Since he was a puppy we have said farewell to shoes, toys, dishes, and had our carpets cleaned.  But oh what joy and fun this beautiful puppy has brought to our household!

Weezer now
The rest of the summer brought graduations and weddings and birthdays, much anticipation for this new little one, and a NEW CAR!  We figured that with a dog and 2 kiddos, we need to up size, and we decided on a Chevy Traverse.  So far it has treated us very well, and it is still way fun to drive!
The end of August our hearts broke as we said goodbye to our beautiful niece/cousin, Nora Jane.  As her Godparents, she was and is in our thoughts and prayers every day. We are still grieving.  We are still thanking her for the love she shared while she was here for a short 14 months.  Lachlan sees her picture on our fridge and points out 'Ora' still, and though Torin never met her, we know their spirits are connected in a very special way.

We love you, Nora.
Six days later.  SIX days.  On September 4th Our beautiful boy, Torin Jerome, was born.  What a joy he is!  Torin's arrival has brought a whole new level of busyness and joy to our family.  Even with all the craziness 3 little munchkins can bring, we were still able to visit Angela's sister Mary in Kansas, take a weekend getaway with the Volkers, spend MEA weekend at the North Shore with friends, celebrate Torin's Baptism, spend a few days in Door County, and play hours of Mario Kart and Super Mario Bros (per Lachlan's request).

Torin:
Torin is amazingly good looking and gets away with everything.  He is now smiling and cooing up a storm. He is a very very big boy, just like his brother.  He is also very social, refusing to be left out of the action, or even to be put down.  2011 Predictions: Torin will crawl, walk, eat a pickle, and date Scarlett Johanson.
Weezer:
Weezer is one of the Brothers....sharing toys and wrestling with Lachlan. He has been house trained for a few months now which has made is parents very proud and grateful.  2011 Predictions: Weezer will learn to listen to basic commands, stop chewing on everything, and win a hot dog eating contest.
Lachlan:
Lachlan is a charmer.  He is now talking up a storm, and a wonderful older brother, wanting to give Baby frequent 'ugs'.  Lachlan can kind of count to 10, and says his alphabet only skipping only a few of the letters.  He has a glimmer in his eye that melts the hardest of hearts, including his parents' when he is misbehaving.  2011 Prediction: Lachlan will start speaking in full sentences, move from a crib to a bed, call himself "Lachlan" instead of "N'nuk", and become the Twins' new Southpaw closer.
Angela:
Angela has been adjusting to life as a home-maker, while still missing her SACS family. Experimenting with new recipes, joining a mom's group, attempting to blog, while keeping 3 boys happy and healthy has kept her more than busy.  2011 Predictions: Angela will run a 1/2 marathon, learn 30 new recipes, become a consistent blogger, and win a Tony Award for her role as Glinda in Broadway's Wicked.
Luke:
It has been a busy and exciting year for Luke work-wise.  2010 has brought many new clients and much work, which led to the need to bring on a new business partner to take the place of his now-retired dad.  God provided the perfect person, who also happened to be a formerr client.  January 1 of 2011 signified the start their partnership, and we are excited with this will bring.  His heavy travel schedule makes every moment with Angela and the boys precious and he looks forward to having more time at home SOON.  2011 Predictions: Luke will continue to take "macho" lessons from Lachlan, grow in admiration for his superstar wife, rack up more frequent flyer points than he would like, and retire.

Angela's sister, Emily, and Luke's brother, Michael, are still living with us, so we surely have a household.  We love our roomies!!!

We are so grateful for all the love and support we receive from our family and friends.  We feel truly blessed and look forward to all that 2011 will bring.  God's blessings on all of you.

Love ya, mean it
Be here now.
