Mistaken Identity

Luke took Lachlan on some errands yesterday.  One of them was the liquor store.  As they were leaving, Lachlan kept saying 'Jesus! Jesus!'  Luke looked where he was pointing and saw a life-size statue of Captain Morgan.
Hmmm, resemblance?
Captain Morgan
Jesus

PS this gives a whole new twist to the wedding at Cana!

Lachlan saves the day!

Where my hero was sitting when he saved the day.

Little Miss Muffet (Mama)
Sat on her tuffet (dining room chair)
Eating her curds and whey (multi-grain cheerios)
Along came a spider (that's exactly how it was)
Who sat down beside her (2 inches from landing on her head)
And frightened Miss Muffet (Mama) away (except she hid her fear from her toddler because she doesn't want him to think spiders are scary)

Now that you have the Mother Goose version, here is the true narrative:
We were sitting at the table and Lachlan kept pointing to something and saying 'pie-der' or 'pahper' or something like that.  Luke and I were trying to translate until we realized he was saying 'spider' I look up and there is this ugly thing hanging right above me!  Ah!  I freaked out- mainly on the inside.  So needless to say I moved chairs and we just watched the spider go up and down its web.  (I couldn't have Luke or I kill it in front of Lachlan!)  Thank you, Lachlan, for being so observant!

PS these 2 boys in red wish you a belated Valentine's Day (or Single Awareness Day or Phileo Day or whatever you may celebrate)  ; )

A Jelly-side-down kind of day

That pretty much sums it up.  We tried going to the Y today, and I got called down from a class because Lachlan was having a hard time.  This set the bar for the day.  There was a tantrum about every hour today, dog puke to clean up, toddler puke to clean up-due to choking...it was actually quite scary, spilled milk and water on many occasions, Torin's head getting whacked with a book, and one of the most horrible baby poops of my life as a mother. (ya know how if you have a lot of paint it is shiny and kind of thick?  Well picture mustard paint like that all over a 5 month old baby-on the back, on his hands, all over his arm and of course on his mother's clothes and body-except it was poop!)  So at dinner Lachlan dropped his bowl full of yogurt on the floor and as I was thinking to myself, 'of course!  now there is yogurt to clean up' I looked down and the bowl was facing up.  WHAT!?!?!?  With ALL the yogurt still in it!  I chuckled and thanked the Lord for this little blessing of jelly side up!
And it's all hugs and smiles at the end of the day!
